Keepin' It Cool!

Now the dust has settled and the paint has dried it's time to big up the people that made TB&TC happen. We're sorry if this reads like the sleeve of a Hip Hop album but we have to big up all the people that helped us pull this off. Firstly, we want to thank all the artists and especially Snub 23 who did so much against the clock (you can be our wing man any day Big Man!), You were, and, are all amazing. Big props guys! It was a pleasure seeing you work and transform the space. Mad skills! We want to thank Anita Rich of the Brighton Youth Centre and the committee for their belief in the project. John - you aint a janitor you're Hong Kong Phooey! I hope the Grouse hit the spot before your 60th. We need to thank Tom from Big Lemon for allowing us to graff his buses, Zyg of 4D modelshop for the paint, Jem of White Hat Media and Soraya of Springboard Coaching for their financial support. Rachel of B&Q for organising the grant. A BIG thank you! Michael Pearson of Connaught - you are a legend and you get it! Thanks! Steve of Route One - keep grinding those rails and thanks for the sticks. They look cool don't they?! Colin and Joe of Cogapp for feeling the vibe and can't wait to work with you next time. Professionals to the end. Dan Vincent - you know why. Nuff said! Rachele and Liam at Tom's bar for supplying more walls, beer and a great after show party. Charlie Allsbrook for her unstinting belief, organisation, contacts and support (and selling the artists' work). Adam Joolia of Audio Active. You caste a big shadow fella and the fam controlled the plates like I haven't seen for a while (even Don started pulling out B-Boy moves!), Nikki and Justin for your vision. Pete Rowe for just being you and creating mad shit - please start again. Everyone was feeling your sculptures dude. Noodles for the air miles and the VST Crew for being you. Russell the chippie. He felt it and it took him back to 1985 when we ran Skyline Inc., the lines and walls of deepest darkest Kent. Someone had to do it! Mr. Smith for manning the door, crossing your legs and not using the bog or complaining. And lastly but not least, Fay MacDonald of Diosa Media, my partner and soul mate for all her help and patience over the last five months. We love you all and can't wait for the next one! If we've missed anyone then we apologise. And of course everyone who attended the event. We thank you! And to the haters...laters! PEACE OUT! TB&TC - Wet Paint Productions.

MENTAL!

Just go HERE!

Thursday, 14 May 2009

The shop aint open yet but here's a preview. This is Hutch's Hostess print and we will be selling 10 (APs) artist proofs over the weekend (or until stocks last!) for...£20 each! Printed on 270 gsm pale grey paper they measure 64 x 39cms. All the artwork from most of the artists is rolling in as we speak and we don't take cheques or cards. So, please...please, bring cash if you want to buy. All of the work will be available at more than fair prices as we're not an auction house or a gallery so you won't face a mark up. And, a percentage of everything you purchase goes to the Brighton Youth Club. Now you can't say fairer than that!

All Roads Lead To Brighton

So, if you haven't gone to google maps to find out where we are yet, TB+TC thought we'd make it easy for you all. This map shows where the main event is being held and points out where some peripheral painting will be taking place. It also indicates where Tom's Bar can be found for an after show party with painting and beer from 6pm - 4am (ouch).

TB+TC Opening Times:

Sat: 10am - 6pm
Sun: 10am - 5pm

And then, like Keyser Soze...we'll be gone!

Rallying For Charity

"What is this?", we hear you cry. Well, apart from obviously being a 1.3 Suzuki Swift, it is also an entrant into the 2009 Mongol Rally and the TB+TC artists will be customising it and turning it into a thing of beauty before it sets off on its 10,000 mile journey - half of that on unmade tracks! Starting at Goodwood Racetrack near Portsmouth, the Swift will travel to Ulan Bator in Mongolia and raise money for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation. Borat may have introduced the 'mankini' to Kazakhstan, however, this joint venture will be bringing graffiti and Street Art to Slovakia, Ukraine and the rolling plateaus of Mongolia itself. If you want to see it happening then Saturday's the day.

Putting TB+TC First!

There are acts of kindness and then there is overwhelming genorisity. And this post certainly concerns the latter. TB+TC would like to offer huge thanks to Connaught, a social housing company, for gifting us a LOT of raw materials for the show. Connaught is the UK’s leading integrated services provider operating in the social housing, public sector and compliance markets. They help to make homes, communities and work spaces pleasant, safe and welcoming. Well they have certainly hit the mark with us! Thank you!
